Trinbago Team Guide

Village Living

One of the unique features of a multi-sport Games is the Athletes’ Village with accommodation, dining, medical facilities and comunal spaces all in one place. There will be separate Villages on Trinidad and Tobago, housing all athletes and team officials from the 71 countries participating.

Village Arrangements

The Games Villages open on 2 August and close on 12 August and arrangements have been made to accommodate us for the extra night to fit with our travel arrangements.

The accommodation will mainly be two and three person rooms. All rooms are en-suite and have air conditioning. Towels are provided, although these cannot be removed from the hotel. Free of charge laundry facilities will be available.

Due to the small number of athletes in some sports you may be required to share a room with a team member from another sport. The room allocation will be advised before we leave for Trinidad and Tobago.

Team Scotland Accommodation

Trinidad – Radisson, Port of Spain

Team Scotland athletes and team officials based on Trinidad will be staying at the Radisson Hotel in Port of Spain.

Tobago – Magdalena Grand

Team Scotland athletes and team officials based on Tobago will be staying at the Magdalena Grand in the Tobago Plantations Estate, a short drive from the airport.

Living As A Team

Village Log In/Out

All team members will be required to log in and out of the Village on a daily basis. This covers training, competition and other activities, following prior approval from Team Managers.

Meal Times

Food will be served in a buffet style manner. Food will be labelled with contents for nutrition, allergy alerts and cultural sensitivities. Halal and vegetarian diets will be catered for.

* Meal times TBC

Quiet Times

A Games Hotel is a difficult environment where respect of others about to compete is essential.

* 22:00 All competitors in rooms (unless in late evening competition)

* 22:00-07:00 Quiet Time

* 23:00 Lights out

Those arriving late after competition or getting up early to train or compete must consider the impact of noise on roommates or others in near-by accommodation.

Accreditation

Accreditation must be worn at all times during the Games. You will need it to access the hotel, dining, training and competition.

Family & Friends

An area in the hotel will be identified as the designated area to meet friends and family. This area can be used between the hours of 10:00 and 20:00 and with prior approval from your sport team manager.

This designated space will be the only place to meet up with family and friends for security reasons.

Rooms

For reasons of safety and security please don’t change rooms unless required due to illness or injury.

Any meetings or informal gatherings should take place in the designated communal areas, not in your rooms, to reduce noise whilst others are preparing for competition.
