Day 8 Round Up
More medals were added to Team GB’s roster yesterday when the men’s and women’s rowing eights secured gold and bronze respectively. These podium places mean the rowing team have now surpassed their previous best medal haul for an overseas Olympics. Scottish athletes Sholto Carnegie and Rowen McKellar were both involved in the action.
Team GB’s women’s hockey team, featuring Amy Costello, Sarah Robertson and Charlotte Watson, suffered defeat to Argentina in their final pool match. They do however progress to the quarterfinals where they will play the Netherlands.
Kathleen Dawson and Keanna MacInnes were both part of the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay team that finished in fifth place in their heat and 10th overall, meaning they didn’t qualify for the finals.
In the Mixed Multihall, Anna Burnet along with partner John Gimson, finished in sixth place overall after their first three races.
Day 9 Preview
Anna Burnet is back in action for the second round of races in the Mixed Multihall with partner John Gimson.
Onto athletics, world number three Jemma Reekie is back on the track as she competes in her 800m semifinal. Josh Kerr and Neil Gourlay are also in action, as they compete in the 1500m semifinals.
Over at swimming, Duncan Scott goes for another medal in the Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay.
