Welcoming the team, Jon Doig, CGS Chief Executive and Chef de Mission for Team Scotland said: “I am delighted that we have brought together such a first class team, with both the expertise and experience necessary to help us achieve our goal of having our most successful Games ever in 2014.
“Just as we spend a significant amount of time and effort ensuring that the right athletes are selected for the team in the right events, we also recognise the importance of having the best possible staff to support them in the right positions. These staff appointments, and those that will follow, will focus on creating the right environment to give our athletes the best possible opportunity to excel at the Games.”
The next phase of appointments will be concluded by the end of 2012 when Team Managers for each of the 17 sports, medical and media staff will be confirmed. The recruitment process will open later this year and we welcome applications from anyone with relevant experience. Look out for the adverts on www.cgcs.org.uk under news.
The Athlete selection period will then open in April 2013 and will be completed by June 2014.
