Day 10 Round Up
More medals were in store for Team GB when a fantastic effort from Beth Potter and the rest of the Mixed Triathlon team secured third place and the bronze medal. The team were originally announced as silver medallists but after further review by Olympic officials, it was found Team USA beat Beth Potter by the smallest of margins when crossing the finish line.
Nick Percy placed 12th in his group qualification and 20th overall for the Men’s Discus Throw, meaning he misses out on advancing to the final.
Anna Burnet and sailing partner John Gimson completed their next round of races in the Mixed Multihull, finishing fourth in Race 7, fifth in Race 8 and fourth in Race 9. They now go into their final set of races before the medal race sitting in a comfortable fourth place behind Italy, Argentina and New Zealand.
It was the end of the 2024 Paris Olympics road for Team GB’s Women’s Hockey team featuring Scottish players Amy Costello, Sarah Robertson and Charlotte Watson, as they were beat 3-1 by the world’s top ranked side the Netherlands.
Day 11 Preview
Scott Brash is back in action with horse Jefferson as they take on the Individual Jumping Final at Château de Versailles.
Laura Muir’s 2024 Olympic journey begins today as she takes on the first round of the Women’s 1500m race.
Back in the water, Anna Burnet and John Gimson will compete in their final three races with sights set on qualifying for the Medal Race that takes place on Wednesday.
In cycling, Neah Evans will compete with her team in the Cycling Track – Women’s Team Pursuit Qualifying at the National Velodrome. After placing second in the Men’s Team Sprint Qualifying yesterday, Jack Carlin and his team move onto the first round where they will take on Germany in their heat. This heat will then determine what Final Team GB will compete in later in the day.
Finally on the track, Josh Kerr and Neil Gourlay will both compete in the Men’s 1500m Final race with hopes of securing their place on the podium.
