Melanie won gold for Team Scotland in the B2/B3 Mixed Pairs as she made her Commonwealth Games debut at Birmingham 2022. She took the title alongside George Miller, Robert Barr and Sarah Jane Ewing as the Scots defeated Wales 16-9 in the final.
She won gold on her Scotland debut, taking the UK Visually Impaired title in the B4 category in 2017 and has won Scottish titles outdoors (2018) and indoors (2019).
