Gold Coast 2018 was Martin’s second Commonwealth Games which saw him reach the last 16 of the Men’s Doubles. He also competed in the Mixed Doubles reaching the last 32 and managed to secure 5th place in the Mixed Team Event. Martin has a long association with Team Scotland,  reaching the quarter-finals of the Team Event and last 16 of the Men’s Doubles at Glasgow 2014.  Previously he won bronze in Singles at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India and has a family tradition in the sport with both his Dad and brother playing for Scotland at junior level.

Martin graduated from Loughborough University with a first class Honours degree.
