Taking up Freestyle Wrestling just two years before the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Joe made huge strides in the sport to be selected. Gold Coast was Joe's first appearance fr Team Scotland, finishing 9th He is also a professional wrestler best known for his appearances in Insane Championship Wrestling and nicknamed ‘The Prestigious One’ for his flamboyant ring entrances.

His impressive list of Freestyle results include gold at the 2017 British Open and silver at the British Closed Championships, also taking the title at the 2017 Tryst Open Championships.
