George Miller
George became the oldest Commonwealth Games gold medallist in history as director to visually impaired bowler Melanie Inness in the Mixed B2/B3 Pairs as he made his Commonwealth Games debut for Team Scotland at Birmingham 2022. George and Melanie paired up with Robert Barr and Sarah Jane Ewing to win gold, beating Wales 16-9 in the final.
Even before the Games began he had made history as, at 75 years and 8 months when the Games begin, he was not only the oldest athlete selected for Team Scotland for the 2022 Games, but also took the all-time record from Willie Wood, who was 72 years old at his eighth and final Games in 2010.
