Archie made his Commonwealth Games debut at Birmingham 2022, making the semi-finals of both the Men's 50m and 100m Breaststroke. He also swam the heats in the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay, with the team going on to place 6th in the final.
He was a bronze medallist in the Men's 50m Backstroke at the 2019 World Junior Swimming Championships in Hungary and took silver and bronze at the 2019 European Junior Championships. The same year, he was presented with the SportsAid Scotland Scottish Youth Sportsperson of the Year award.
