Alex Gladkov

With bronze at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Alex joined Viorel Etko in ending a 20 year wait for a Scottish medal in Wrestling. The 2011 Commonwealth Championships bronze medallist, Alex had shown great form going into the Glasgow Games, winning gold at the British Championships and English Open Championships in the build up.

Gold Coast was his second appearance at a Commonwealth Games where he finished 11th. Prior to the Games, Alex won silver at the 2017 British Closed Championships and gold at the 2017 English Open Championships. Alex's father Volodymyr is the Scottish National Coach.
