Part of the Achieve programme at Glasgow 2014, which allowed young athletes to experience a Commonwealth Games from behind the scenes, Adam put that experience to good use when he made his debut for Team Scotland at Gold Coast 2018, reaching the quarter-finals of both the Men’s Doubles and the Mixed Team Event. He holds the record for number of Scottish Junior titles won with 27 and started 2018 by defending his senior Men’s Doubles title at the Scottish Championships, also taking gold in Men’s Doubles at the Iceland International.

Adam won bronze with Alex Dunn in Men’s Doubles at the 2015 European Junior Championships. His uncle Kenneth played football for St Mirren.
