Part of the Achieve programme at Glasgow 2014, which allowed young athletes to experience a Commonwealth Games from behind the scenes, Adam put that experience to good use when he made his debut for Team Scotland at Gold Coast 2018, reaching the quarter-finals of both the Men's Doubles and the Mixed Team Event.
He holds the record for number of Scottish Junior titles won with 27 and won bronze with Alex Dunn in Men's Doubles at the 2015 European Junior Championships. The pair have continued their doubles partnership and became the first Scottish pair to win the Scottish Open Men's Doubles title since 1983 when they took gold in 2019.
His uncle Kenneth played football for St Mirren.
