Bronze medallist in the Points Race at Glasgow 2014, Katie stepped up in style at her second Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, winning gold in the Individual Pursuit, silver in the Points Race and recording two 4th place finishes in the Scratch Race and Road Time Trial.
Her Individual Pursuit gold came on a special night as her brother John took silver in the men's event, making them the first brother and sister to win Commonwealth Games medals for Scotland on the same day.
Previously a swimmer, Katie took up cycling in 2011, where she competed on a grass track. She has gone on to win World and Olympic gold, setting a World record in the Team Pursuit in every round at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Olympic gold medallist in 2016, adding gold and silver at Tokyo 2020, and a seven-time World Champion, Katie Archibald has established herself as a force to be reckoned with over a 12-year period at the top of her sport, from the first of an astonishing 20 European titles in 2013 to her most recent World title in the madison this year.
Her success has been tempered by injury, missing both Birmingham 2022 and Paris 2024 but returns to Team Scotland looking to add to the gold, silver and bronze she won across Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018.
