Team Scotland House opened its doors today welcoming family, friends and fans to a home away from home as Scotland prepares for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games that begin on Thursday (23 July).
The venue was officially opened by Commonwealth Games Scotland Chair Ian Reid CBE, Ms Maree Todd, Minister for Mental Wellbeing, Public Health, Sport, Alcohol and Drugs, Helen Phillips MBE, Regional Vice President for Europe, and Euan Burton MBE, Team Scotland gold medallist at Glasgow 2014.
Taking over The Corinthian Club in Glasgow’s Merchant City from today until 2nd August, Team
Scotland will be running a series of events to provide a base for athletes and all those looking to
support Team Scotland when they’re not cheering them on from the stands.
What to expect:
- The Clyde Club: Open 10am-6pm each day from Wednesday 22nd July – Saturday 1st August
(12pm-6pm on Sunday 26th), featuring daily appearances Team Scotland mascot Clyde
daily at 12pm and 2pm, a Team Scotland exhibition, family-friendly activities and
giveaways, screens to watch the sporting action and food and drink to purchase. - Team Scotland Pop-up Shop: Open 10am-6pm each day from Wednesday 22nd July –
Sunday 2nd August, fans can kit themselves out like the athletes. Check out the range

Financial support has been provided by The Scottish Government, sportscotland and Commonwealth Sport to deliver Team Scotland House, which will also operate as a central hub for business engagement, facilitating networking events and business forums and promoting Scottish renewable energy, fintech, tourism and food and drink.
Speaking to media ahead of the opening, Commonwealth Games Scotland Chief Executive Jon Doig OBE said: “Whether you’re cheering from the stands, watching the action at Team Scotland House or supporting from home, we know the whole of Scotland will get behind the team.
“We hope as many people as possible will get behind our athletes throughout the Games and visit Team Scotland House to experience everything it has to offer.
“It will be a place where athletes, families, friends and supporters can come together to celebrate Team Scotland, share memorable moments and enjoy the unique atmosphere of a home Games.”
Sport Minister Maree Todd said: “I am delighted to officially open Team Scotland House my thanks go to everyone at Commonwealth Games Scotland who has worked so hard to make it a reality.
“Team Scotland House will provide space for Team Scotland athletes to meet with loved ones, celebrate achievements and share those moments with the people closest to them.
“But it will go beyond sport and be a hub for engagement, discussion, and new connections. The Scottish Government has provided funding for this hub to allow an extensive programme of activities that will highlight the very best of Scotland.
“I hope Team Scotland House becomes a place where memories are made, successes are celebrated and new relationships are forged.”
With a total of 177 selected athletes and representation across all 10 sports, the team is made up of 61 returning athletes, 116 debutants and 21 returning medallists. The team is evenly split between males (88) and females (89) and the team includes 36 para-sport athletes including three directors and pilots – the largest number to date.
