Glasgow 2026 uses a hotel-based accommodation model rather than a single athletes’ village, so medical support is delivered across each of the team’s hotels. There is one doctor residing in each athlete hotel, and every hotel has dedicated medical space for consultations and treatment.
Your first point of contact is your sport’s lead doctor or physiotherapist, the doctor based in your hotel, or the duty Team Scotland doctor. You can:
A few practical points about how the service runs:
In addition to the Team Scotland medical service in each hotel, Glasgow 2026 operates a Central Clinical Hub for accredited athletes. This sits alongside our own provision and access is coordinated through your Team Scotland doctor.
Where imaging or further investigation is clinically needed, your Sport doctor will arrange it. Ross Hall Hospital is the designated centre for X-ray, MRI and CT for Team Scotland athletes and accredited staff. On-site diagnostic ultrasound is available through Edinburgh Radiology, and daily MSK ultrasound clinics are also available at the Glasgow 2026 Central Clinical Hub. NHS imaging is used for emergency and clinically urgent cases through agreed clinical referral. All investigations are coordinated through the Team Scotland Medical team
There are no off-site performance services at Glasgow 2026.
If you have attended previous Games, you may be used to accessing performance support services at an external high-performance centre. These off-site performance services will not be provided at Glasgow 2026.
The medical, physiotherapy, soft tissue and mental health provision described in this guide is focused on your health, injury management, recovery and wellbeing during the Games. If you wish to maintain wider performance support, please arrange this through your sport or governing body as part of your pre-Games preparation.
