About Delhi 2010
The vibrant city of New Delhi, home to 14 million people, hosted the Commonwealth Games in October 2010. This was the first time India had hosted the Games and only the second time the event had been held in Asia, Kuala Lumpur in 1998 being the first.
At the time, the tally of 9 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze, a total of 26 medals, was Scotland’s second most successful Games in history. The Delhi Games now rank fourth behind Melbourne 2006, Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018. Shooting was the top sport at the Games with Swimming not far behind.
