Gold Coast 2018 saw Jen make her third appearance at a Commonwealth Games, having won two golds and a bronze at the 2010 Commonwealth Games aged just 19, before becoming the most decorated female athlete in Scottish Commonwealth Games history at Glasgow 2014 with silver and bronze – a record previously held by her mother, Shirley McIntosh. Jen also competed for Team Scotland at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008, winning silver in the 50m Rifle Three Positions.

She is a two time Olympian (London 2012 and Rio 2016), recorded 7th and 9th place finishes at the Baku 2015 European Games and finished fourth in the 50m Rifle Three Positions event at the 2015 European Championships in Slovenia. In a highly successful 2017 she claimed two golds at the European Championships in Baku and gold at the Commonwealth Championships in the Prone event.
